Ending Gait Poem by Brittney Karasek

Ending Gait

Rating: 5.0

endless rhythm pounding on.
beats that drive us to the edge.
the edge of insanity.
edgeless world.
rounding no corners.
hollow vision of life unabridged.
and unadorned with needs of spoil.
bindings of rich, unwanted.
I want draining sun, and lonely sky.
with howling wind, and last days,
the truths of life unrealized.
understood, and under stoned,
we walk alone.
each of us fading to the rhythm of our own steps.
will you crawl, walk, or run,
the pace of your demise,
you decide.
face away the sun.
infinite life seems unwarranted.
punishment undergone,
through clouds realizing.
night before dawn.
I see the end of my time.
rushed, and yet unready.
how will I face the divine light?
so far away, and yet all too close,
I march my broken footsteps across this land of fire.
to the end.
this is the end.
