Death;
Both enemy and friend,
Eradicator of Time and Place,
Reliever of pain and suffering,
Terminator of relationships,
Determiner of their value,
Extinguisher of genius and initiative,
Liberator from the drudgeries of life,
Foe of happiness,
Friend of the unhappy,
Creator of loneliness,
Companion of the lonely,
Liquidator of material gains,
Equalizer for the poor and the rich,
Confiscator of friends, family and loved ones,
Safe haven from derision, hate and cruelty,
Destroyer of hopes and dreams,
Refuge for those without hope.
Disrupter of blessed lives,
Comforter for the terminally ill.
Death;
Both enemy and friend,
Both executioner and euthanasiast.
And strangely,
Producer of the dust
From which new life is born.
