Enlightenment Poem by Robert Gardner

Have you ever felt the cold feelings of life?
The dangerous struggles the eternal strife?
Have you ever thought there is a way through?
Ever gazed and the stars and wondered what to do?

Ever tried the path of enlightment as many do say?
Ever concentrated on the present, for today is today?
Ever wondered who made it? The world I mean,
Have you ever seen the sky turn from blue to green?

Well if you ever want to do this then this is what must be done,
Journey here and there feel a tree thats weighs a tonne,
Begin to understand that we are not alone,
Begin to understand to communicate without the phone

For if you ever want to reach enlightenment you must understand this:

Yesterday is history
Tommorow is a mystery
But today is a gift...
