Enniskillen Poem by johnoe mc guckin

Enniskillen

Orange or, green
we can all wear the red
In honour of our glorious dead.
An inglorious atrocity
acted out in
Proud Rosalind's name.

Left nothing only
shame, And bewilderment
The wearing of the
poppy red on Remembrance Day.

That inglorious act
Carried out in 87
shall live forever
In ignominy.

Eleven dead: -could the murders,
Not see proud Rosalind dead
where being honoured there.
Many orange, and green died
Upon, Flanders field.

This atrocity dishonored
Our grandfathers, uncles
Fathers, and mothers
Acceptable collateral,
Can anyone accept
Such a heinous phrase
To try, and justify the injustice,
And Tullyhommond: -

What would they have said
About the children parading there?
Would they have once again
Used the phrase, acceptable collateral?
No one shall claim in Ireland name,
be they orange, or green.

That any action that
Terrifies the populace
Is an acceptable act.
Especially one when we honour
our young, lying dead
In a foreign field.

What right these cowardly men
To take even one life?
Would that we could,
Sweep all these cowards
aside, and proudly
Wear the poppy red with,
Carson, and Redmond's men.
