Entwined Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Entwined

Soon we celebrate
a special day
for hearts aflame
with passion,
whispering words of deep affection
Into open hearts and waiting ears
in anticipation
of returned sweet kisses,
in tender embraces.
of getting lost again
in sensual pleasures.
For love to flourish
it must be returned;
If not, it will languish
in tears, and sighs,
and let go
unrequited,
leaving an emptiness
inside the soul.
So, let us diligently seek
those warmest moments
When two become one flesh entwined
and find happiness
and joy unspeakable
in unison.
