Eulogy For Mark Timothy Anderson Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Eulogy For Mark Timothy Anderson

Rating: 5.0

My nephew Mark was one of a kind
Born with looks and a keen, sharp mind
As a youngster he played a mean violin
Was eager to learn, was inquisitive then
I remember well when he was baptized
But in later life, I was not so surprised
When he chose to walk a different path
And seemed none the worse in the aftermath
Most of his life was spent in the military
During which he found time to marry
The love of his life, a gal named Aleceia
I am proud to claim her as my niece…uh,
Mark left us alone most unexpectedly
During what we thought was routine surgery
A remarkable fellow, a bit introvert,
Would give you off his back a favorite shirt
He enjoyed a vintage Scotch, a fine cigar
Was very protective of his brand new car
I will always consider Mark a cut above
The last words he said to me were "I love
You, Uncle Milt"
