Envy Sits Alone Poem by Kurt Philip Behm

Envy Sits Alone

Death in comparison,
a covetous dispatch

Jealousy reflected,
its courtiers attack

An emperor left naked,
his crown a vacant throne

Jesters flee the castle
—as envy sits alone
