Epiphany Poem by George Boamah

Epiphany

Vehemently, you try to prove that you're not
Instead of guarding against your thoughts
Slowly veering away from what you've been taught
Deciding not to do what you very well know you ought
I hope you hear me and gradually come to a halt
Please take this tête a tête with a slight pinch of salt
Until you find peace, everything you do is for nought
You come to this realization, now you're fraught and distraught
Look back and it dawns on you that you've been caught
Unaware of your plight and that you need support
Now you wish to get back to your defaults
So you launch a full scale military like assault
By returning and retiring to your safe space, your fort
You're now in awe of the support you sought that you got
And are finally in a place you no longer feel like a fraud
