Equal To Eternity Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Equal To Eternity

There is no tribe superior
No kingdom more supreme
No ethnic group’s inferior
Salvation can’t esteem

Yet since life’s dawn love’s been calling
Day and night’s heard the cry
Even now the lost are falling
Even now children die

Rejecting God! His Lamb and Son
Despising Heaven’s Light
Fools end losing what can’t be won
And put The Wind to flight

The Spirit of The One who lives
The King on Heaven’s throne
The Promised Gift, whom Jesus gives
To those He calls His own

Though rich though poor both young and old
Sinners foolish and wise
Snivelling cowards and soldiers bold
Are equal in His eyes

Yet still we fight we war and kill
The devil’s song we sing
Finding debauchery such a thrill
As rebels to our King

The time has come for you to see
The Truth The Life The way
To set by faith my children free
Forever and a day

So now awake! You wayward child
Arise and greet the dawn
Return to me, stop running wild
Dismiss the devil’s spawn
