Escape Poem by Savannah Kopek

Escape

Watching the sun go into the horizon
Finally the end of the day
The moon shining in the sky already
The beauty of the stars shining
Everything else get's blocked out

Not caring what anyone else thinks
Not even noticing my own thoughts
Creating a new image in my head
Of a day when the sun disapperes
Making the moon and stars stay out

The thoughts barge in
Seeing a future with him by my side
It would be perfect if he were here
But instead he want's to live
Live without me

All of a sudden a surge of sadness
The eruption makes me want the sun
Having the sun makes it a new day
Not paying attention to the beauty
Just wishing for a new beginning.
