Essence Poem by aleah garris

Essence

What is the essence the meaning of love?
That phrase came harsly out oh his lips
Do we just throw it around like its nothing?

We say i love mexican food, but then we turn right back
around and say the words i love you. In an instant those words part from us, but dont we wish them back, shortly after we have said them.

Have we gotten to the point where we have made the word useless, nothing?
Love can be anything. Ranging from love for the mountains, love for a band, love for the smell of fresh cut grass. Or just love for a soul, somebody or something that holds your thoughts so close, something that pulls at your own heart, something that pains you to not be around.Something that pulls so hard at you that u feel a void within you.

Love what is it?
I call it a binding essence.

i like this poem, it is true love has lost its own meaning over the years and that we all throw it around as if it isnt special. good job :)
