Eternal Life Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Eternal Life

Sometime I'll reach my final day
When life within must ebb away
The years on earth God gave to me
Will become a fleeting memory.

The seasons have just drifted by
So many moons have graced the sky
Whilst winter's honeysuckle bloom
Filled the air with rich perfume.

I have seen small babies born,
Life's miracles with each new morn
Earthly joy for man and wife...
The meaning of 'eternal life'.

With the heartache, pain and fear
I have shed an unwanted tear
But my world became a fairer place
When love did my soul embrace.

Now is the time for thanks to flow
For the wonderful glory here below
For glistening sea and azure sky
And heaven's paradise waiting on high.
