Don Juan would have gone mad over you,
Soaring like Eagles do, chasing
The Eternal Flames of Heaven,
Ere they Diminish...
As embers in a furnace.
Lord Byron's Cantos would not
Have done Justice to you,
Eternally graceful and still, a kodak
Moment captured in Time,
Your silhouette, graceful, so graceful
Burned in my mind.
Images Fade but laughter resonates
With a Joyful Echo for all of Eternity.
Narcissus and Echo, forever perplexed,
Chasing each other in Time, He simply could
Not see beyond his own Shadow.
Yesterdays are forever-gone,
And sometimes for the past we long,
Like distant Memories right before sleep,
Your eyes mesmerize me, mesmerized into
The Deep Abyss of Joy with Despair:
My fingers running through your hair,
One last time for the sake of your Smile,
Or Voice so Bright, I could listen awhile-
Forever and a Day to all that you say,
Your Shadow drifting, drifting forever Away.
And the Sadness of the Loss is too much to
Fully Bear,
My Arms--outstretched and bare--I
Reach for you but you are not there.
And I am left grasping Shadows
Of Yesterday,
For forever and a day--
Your Brown eyes o'er me hold total sway,
I listen and smile to every word that
You say.
A crescendo of Excitement Rising
like the Mourning Star,
Ere the Sun, my Love, ever wanders
too far.
If I would have known I'd never see you again,
I would have mentioned these words-
Succinct and plain:
I care for you like a child with his
toy,
Forever lost in the Sands of Time,
Captured in a Passionate Rhyme:
Just so long as you're happy, I shall feel
Joy.
Please don't leave me like the Stars
do the Day,
And even though they're still there-
They're wandering through the Saddest Air,
If 'I love you', I never got to hear you say.
