Eternity's Wait Poem by Herbert Hagell

Eternity's Wait

Hope turns to desperation
Princess becomes a mistress
Hero slides to scapegoat
Hope fades to darkness.

The castle. once built
On the bedrock illusion
The force, the power, the will
Crumbles into confusion.

Love, granted by the universe
Given to human architects
Lost in the star-crossed sky
This lifetime, again rejects.

Back to Eternity's wait
Until brought together again
Souls drifting, for hearts.
Bodies empty of love's pain.
