She lost life
What else did she lose
Before she lost it?
Was she able to choose?
Married young
She saw life through rich spectacles
Little did she know
That life had tentacles
There's the heir
To the family's only fortune
Throw it all away
For a love affair on the run
Her husband and his father
Lived forever with the slow burn
To see everthing he worked for
Have no investment on return
Then slow one day he surrendered
To the inevitable
As if all that's before was
Just waiting his turn at the round table
Then she wondered about her children
Her girl princessess made more princesses
Till one of hers disappeared into cancer
The careful disease that death caresses
Sixty years on top of forty spent in lies
As memory interplays reality
All off-spring are floating memories
As if a life lived is already a fatality
Finally life has released the contract
And now death is definitely a serene place
All she has given all her life was love
An investment that returns to her to grant her grace
