Even If I Cast Myself Upon A Wing Poem by Mohammad Younus

Even If I Cast Myself Upon A Wing

Even if I cast myself upon a wing,
To soar beyond the edges of the skies,
The truth I seek, elusive as a dream,
A shadow until the sun of truth arises.

Yet still, I long with every breath I take,
To hear the song my hidden soul would sing—
A melody sweet that only I can make,
That speaks of love, of peace, of ecstasy.

With all my heart, I'd twirl beneath the stars,
If only I could catch that divine sound—
A whisper rising from the divine spirit,
In secret spaces, the hidden secret is found.

I'll find a place where silence reigns supreme,
Where I can rest and listen to the musical stream
Of harmony that flows from deep within,
The music of my soul—the origin.

From Alast's day, the vow that I once swore
Has bound me to this sacred search for more,
To feel the pulse of love within my chest,
To dwell in presence of my truest essence.

Love's the bird that carried me through time,
A creature born of divine spirit blown into me—
Its wings are woven of the eternal truth,
And I, its song, am made for endless flight.
