'Even Now' Poem by Zoe Nyght

'Even Now'

Thumbing pages dream-drenched worn
in the sleepy noon comfort of beauty's dirty warmth,
my ideas echo those of ages ago
that first fell free like seeds from the tree of eve
and ripened into the words I rip apart greedily
climbing higher and faster to childlike crescendo,
matched beat for beat
the rhythm of the rising piano -
Even now, an inspiration orgy in a sun-fed frenzy
helps rhapsody trapped chords strike
where words breathe like growing trees,
where freedom's smooth fall sound
follows like a shadow sharp tornado-bound
crashes on the beach of an endless shore.

Even now,
Youth waves to the horizon, More.
