Ever Remembered Poem by Rob Knetsch

Ever Remembered

You allowed me to comment on this
conflict as had appeared after that
hilarious accident some time ago
under that broken bridge at some
city late at night in the winter

I was further away than the others
when the air became as cold as
frozen water that stopped flowing
in the river where other people
appeared and started to undress

They tried to swim while all the lights
were switched off and it was
the first time that such a signal
was given from an unknown authority
hidden behind the darkness of night
