Every Now And Then Poem by Mohammad Younus

Every Now And Then

Every now and then,
Love walks softly along,
Without a plectrum to strike
The Rabab of the heart,
Creating sweet melodies,
Weaving the sweetest of songs.

The beautiful flute's captivating voice,
I follow, drawn by mystery and intrigue,
Knowing full well, forever out of reach
The transcendent flutist may remain.

But follow I must—
To uncover the enchanting source,
The hidden flutist
Whose magical notes resonate,
An intense magnetic force
That draws me ever nearer.

When at last you realize
The beauty you seek
Is within yourself,
The most radiant face—
The object of your praise.

In a moment of silence,
Words falter and fade.
Hearts' ears fixed upon
The song of love,
As love runs deeper
Than the ocean's tide.
