Life is so short
but forgetting is so long.
The distance is so great
but the feelings so strong.

This old heart is in so much pain
because it has the capacity to care.
This old body has been through much
together they’ve tasted joy and despair.

One who lives in this world
can not claim to be alive.
Until they have tasted both
and still managed to survive.

You gone and gave me both
whether I wanted them or not.
Life gone and did what it does,
and now, they’re all I’ve got.
