Everything I Love Poem by Althea Tan

Everything I Love

I had everything I loved
And everything I needed

So I took my gun
I shot a hole in everything I love

It was just too much
The compassion and warmth
The love and Joy
Their kindness and integrity

They loved a little too much
and I cared a little too less

Maybe just maybe
If I had another way
We all would be living happily
But alas, that is not today

And I'm sorry but I just could not
For their expressions of happiness
was one I could not replicate

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The line 'I shot a hole in everything I love' comes from the song 'shots' by imagine dragons, a magnificent band! I DO NOT OWN anything from them. Also, slight UnderTale reference.
