Exponent Teller Poem by Antonio Williams

Exponent Teller

they turned you to a monster,
and rubbed your wounds open,
cursed did them your name,
and danced their thoughts of shame

a man* of solitude is your name,
a house swept off harmony is your home,
they built a fence with their faces
but victory remains in defeat

you were struck by lightning, weren't you?
to 'e sky 'ey smiled 'eir thank you's
they gleamed and groomed for your death,
what a surprise you still breath!

but what happened in the end?
who did win by the fence?
their sense of deceit did end,
and you endured to the end
