Extents Poem by Mohamed Eid

Extents

If only you agreed to throw all those things around us
And jumped with me on the same bus with those young lovers
Youthful and bright and clear like a summer’s flower.

If only you could unlearn, disremember and unknow;
The forceful love around those walls,
Or rebel for the sake of love like a rose.

I give you a piece of myself in every thought
I trace your hair with my fingers in my moonlit dreams

My heart shakes and breathes differently for you.
If only I could plant my warmth around your bed
Caress your face softly - a cool breeze to misty petals-
Give my heart to you and show you love’s extents.
