Eyes Poem by Shruti Goswami

Eyes

Eyes, searing down my flesh;
Burning through my soul.
Evoking a passion, hitherto unfelt.
Feel my heart. its sinking.

Before your gaze, defiant and challenging;
Then again, loving and caressing.
Magnetizing my innermost thoughts,
To yours, then repulsion, at its crescendo,

Those glances, pulverize, freeze,
Hopes melt into water.
I am defiant, trying hard,
To be oblivious:

Can't be,
It is all too obvious.
Can you?
