Eyes Poem by Jett Metcalf

Eyes

Peering eyes look into my soul
digging into my mind like an unearthing mole

They see my pasts and futures to be
then I realize what there truly is to see

The world around is malicious and cruel
thinking otherwise is being a fool

knowing this I can be glad
instead of depressed or morbidly sad

While I watch the world come to a hault
I realize it is all my fault

Because I ripped this universal seam
In my own malevolent dream
