Eyes Poem by Genevieve Surrender

Eyes

Rating: 4.4

you have very big eyes.
and I can see myself
when you look at me

you look like you're wearing eyeliner
and black lipstick
all the time

even your nose
is outlined in black

you have outlines
in black
when the outlines
are the only black
that is on your body

and you snore.
you sleep above me.
you snore.
and you're hanging out my window.
every night.
but the screen keeps you from falling.

you love peas too
whenever I have fried rice
you eat all my peas
before I can even taste one

you even like doughnuts
and you cry when I'm in the shower
and when I kiss you on the head
you pat me
then I kiss you
then you pat me
and I kiss you
and you pat me
then you bite me on the forehead
because of some reason
that I'll probably never understand

when I'm not home
you dropp my CDs
in the hallway
and I have to clean them up
because there are teeth marks
on the clear plastic part
around the edge

you can't just leave me alone in a room
you have to follow me
but you're not a dog

and you have really little features
your ears are tiny
and you hate it when I pretend to bite them
and you squawk
when I kiss your feet
and tickle you.

you don't do things like a normal cat
and I love you
because i'm not normal either.

"but you're not a dog"…right when I was thinking it was a dog! Nice!
