Eyes Open. Poem by Christina Hunter

Eyes Open.

Rating: 5.0

I will kiss with my eyes open....
So I can see you for who you are
The unattainable. The wanted.
The uncaught fallen star.
You don't fit in my pocket,
Nor me in your heart.
I should have known from the beginning
But now..I'm so far from the
Start.
I don't like what you have done to me, when I kissed you with eyes closed.
How far I fell to my knees, ring in my hand, so exposed.
Shame on me for thinking. I was something worth your time.
What a fool I am, truly.....
To think you would be mine.

Beautiful and insightful. A lovely poem well articulated and elegantly brought forth in good diction from the heart with conviction. Thanks for sharing Christina. Please read my poem POETIC MASTERPIECE.
