F A I T H Poem by Jim Boone

F A I T H

</>Can be a following of tradition
Church led and preached to
A way without exception or thought
Translations quite literal and unquestioned
Prayers prewritten and read in unison:
A time of need with unrequited clues.

I like you, but I believe in me (I Am) & God
Sure would have jumped ship a time or three
But unlawful cutting of a lifeline is dangerous
While faith in divine guidance and intent
Charts a course from birth to death
That inhibits ‘whoa is me’ and ‘boo hoo’
While holding on, or out on a limb
Dancing, chancing, romancing and poised
For flight and doing for others
With a measure of caring, sharing aNd
