Facade Poem by Nicole Gehrman

Facade

People need to see,
that it's not really me.
I portray myself in ways
that only sways.

This is what you think of me,
but not what you see in me.
I want people to think I'm a badass,
but it is only a mask.

What people read
and what people believe
is only the beginning,
of a story with no ending.

Everything that is put from pen to paper
must be about me from a time later.
Assumptions always being made,
that cause problems that never fade.

Judging becoming the fad of the future.
Truth being sewn up with a suture.
Hearts being broken
when the people have spoken.

Yet another great poem and all I have to say is never be afraid to be yourself, even if people hate it, you will be happier than if you were someone your not just pleasing a meaningless crowd.
