Fading Poem by Silence Dogood

Fading

Rating: 4.5

The cuts have started fading.
But the memories are fresh.
They will never go away.
The lines across my flesh.

They will be there forever.
Becoming harder to see.
But never dissapearing.
For they're there just for me.

And its the torture that I live with.
The cage that I have built.
For the mistakes that I have made.
Carved from my own guilt.

Its the lines that I have made.
And the stories that they tell.
That will have them living within me.
To my welcoming in hell.

They arent quite as present.
The scars that I bear.
Not as they once were.
When no one showed a care.

They are only lines.
Shouting to the world.
Saying look at me and how I was.
And how my life unfurled.

The cuts have started fading.
But here they will remain.
Lines against my arm.
That have taken all my pain.
