Fading Stars Poem by Cassie Lee

Fading Stars

You said I was the vivid stars
But my heart is like a void
Of deep regret and loneliness-
And scars.

The black matter in the sky
The silent shadow close behind-
Is me.

Every day without your kiss and calming voice-
And smile
I die a little more inside
From misery and pride.

I’m wordless when I see you
But passionate within
My shaking body wants to speak
But I’m too weak and thin
So each new day I fade a little more
from the suns embrace
As empty tears stream down my face.
