FAIRYTALE NOT MEANT FOR ME
I have a fairytale in my pocket
I've been carrying around so long
I've had the lyrics in my heart
but they were never sung in song
I've been led to believe that of my dream
there must be something wrong
becasue I never found a place yet to call home
a place where I belong
So while I spied you crying
in the looking glass
I placed the fairytale on your mantle
so you might see it as you pass
I have no use for it now
It only made me blue
The fairytale I kept
I think somehow I was only saving it for you
And now your silence is growing louder
and telling me there's nothing left to do
and the only solution I can find that feels true
is to leave the fairytale with hopes it will come to pass for you
I'm giving up a lot of hopes
that have given up on me
If sadness lingers and joy never sings
I'll try to somehow face it bravely and honestly
