Fake Friends Poem by Nebil Elias

Fake Friends

It's strange how quick your so-called friends can turn into enemies
How your trust can be misplaced from bitter jealousy
They come and they go
Leaving indelible marks deep upon your soul

They call you their friend, as they pull out a knife
They stab you in the back, not once but twice
Friends for life, but that's a straight lie
They got no clue, about ride or die

They wish and pray for your downfall
So quickly they replace
Spreading rumors all around
"That guy is a disgrace"

I was surrounded by wolves dressed like sheep's
Faking affection and promises, dry snitching on me
All my feelings for everyone are gone
Because no one is meant to stay
And everyone turned out to be a fraud

I'm aware that I'm alone and that no one is with me
Is this how my entire life will be?
I have people I consider to be friends
But how many of them will stick around until the end?

All I wanted was a real friend
To have my back and be with me
Just one hug, that's what I plead
Just one person who cares is all I need
