Fake Over Real Poem by Paige Parker

Fake Over Real

Rating: 5.0

I'm the only one
Who knew the real you
The guy who loved to read
And lost his self-esteem.

They only knew the mask
That mask you wore every day
The guy that was cool
And never looked like a fool.

But you chose them
Instead of me
You chose fake over real
And lost your chance with me.

Now you've forgotten me
And everything I said
Forgotten what I felt
And forgotten what you dealt.

I miss the real you
The one who was my friend
The one who filled my thoughts
And the one who never lost.

Now you're a shell
A shell with a mask
You chose fake over real
And lost your chance to feel.
