Fakir's Prayer To 'akaal Purakh' Poem by Sumita Jetley

Fakir's Prayer To 'akaal Purakh'

As the first ray of dawn pierced the darkness,
A group of fakirs emerged from the misty haze.
Clad in colorful attire, resonating with sacred hymns,
They moved towards the Golden Temple, immersed in love, true lovers.

Their steps matched the sacred sound,
Every step a dance of love, every breath a new hymn.
In the temple's corner, among ancient books,
Where the scent of sandalwood was infused with spiritual fragrance.

The dhikr began, bound in rhythm and melody,
'Allah Hu', enveloped everything in its echo.
Words from Gurbani were woven into their hymns,
'Tu Thakur Tum Peh Ardas', every heart's plea.

This fair of love and devotion, this spiritual tradition,
Prayers reaching the skies, this song from every tongue.
In the temple of Amritsar, where every moment feels divine,
The congregation of fakirs, a wondrous sensation.

Where love and devotion meet, there dwells divinity,
In every dhikr, every prayer, just one cry—'Allah Hu'.
Under the shadow of the Golden Temple, this spectacle of spirituality,
Touches the soul, a support filled with love.
