Fall With Sanma Fish Poem by wabi sabi

Fall With Sanma Fish

the beautiful fall sky led me to lunch
Sushi restaurant in Kyoto
On Kawaramachi street @ Sanjo street

I took sanma in this season with no hesitation

sliced blue fish lying on the vinegared rice
sprincled with grated Daikon vegetable

juicy but daikon leaving clear taste
I bite sliced ginger afterward
and beer, of course

there was a lady sitting next to me at the age of 88
we had a little talk and smiled
I listened to her talk to a british couple sitting the other side
peacefully and joyfully

it happened on a fall day

A gentle account with clear detail and ingredients and of course beer on that fall day, very autumnal.
