Fallen Poem by Cati Walthall

Fallen

So many times I fall
Flat on my face
but haven't we all
Tripped during this huge race?
The road we walk on is bumpy
and we all trip at sometime
Falling into puddles so gumpy
Missing the beats of rhyme
But we can't just lay in the road
We'll be trampled
By trucks with a heavy load
So we get up
Walk it off
Or do what it takes to get home
Those who never give up
Can lose the race 1,000 times
But never can be rightfully called a failure
Because they haven't given up this time
So what if you fall?
You can't go back and change it
All you can do now
Is learn more for the future
Pay more careful attention to what you did wrong
And fix it next time you run
