Fallen Angels Poem by Kevin Praaj

Fallen Angels

Rolling,
Hearts darker than the shining
It’s your love you’re withholding
We try to change this
Heaven's angels falling on razors

***

Back against the wall thinking how did she fall
Doesn't have nine lives but she feels she's used 'em all
She wanna break up
Don’t ever wanna sit and make up
Or slow up
Just go wherever the moment takes us
It makes us
Pushes to the floor and breaks us
Still she stands up
Searching for that man she can trust.

They ain’t helping, just watching as her heart be melting
The belting she takes by the cards she’s dealt with
Believing, since all of these suckers be leaving
That sadness and pain, that’s all they good for
It’s a crying shame because she's worth so much more
So break down that door, and show her what you’re good for
Through the fields you’ll run just to escape this war.
