Fallen Star Poem by M. Elaine Garcia

Fallen Star

</>A girl in love
With the stars
Imagination wandering
Dreams arriving
Encountering obstacles
Overcoming and surviving
Happiness washed away
Floundering with life
Waking up lonely
Hopeless with strife
Left with nothing
But a broken dirty mirror
Staring at her reflection
Enveloped with fear
A lost soul
Living reasonless
Slipping slowly
Into a cold whirlpool
Dreams drowning
Wallowing in self pity
Her depression
Drowns the city
A sweet revenge
For all her misgivings
A punishment
For those who deceived her
Binge on hatred and disgust
Swallowing the bitterness
Of broken trust
