Falling Poem by Pete Rivera

Falling

You turn away in cold sight
And begin to shiver with frostbite
Now warmth is far beyond imagination
Just be calm and just be patient

Time and time again we walk
Time and time again we talk
Till you turn away from me
And enter a stage beyond reality

At least let me get out what I must say
And please, let me speak without delay
It is my intent to be utterly kind
With two blue eyes, how then could you be blind?

Was all of what you said true?
Or perhaps you are hiding something new
A secret that keeps you on a thread
To prove true what I have said

But my chance is gone, why bother try?
I let myself down with a common sigh
And watch you walk away in cold fright
To enter a world beyond any light
