The Speed Of Light Poem by Pete Rivera

The Speed Of Light

Rating: 5.0

I thought about you
Oh, what a thing to do
We spoke after so long
We had forgotten what we'd done wrong

Here and there, gone for a day
At the speed of light I'm never late
To hug you and tell you goodnight
And pray that you sleep in lunar light

Come to be here with me
I'll show you what you've never seen
Two of all, but one heart created
The other is the one heart fated

I wish that I could believe
That you are fated for me
But after all I've been through
There's no way I could ever
Be fated to you

So what is fate?
Is it lie or truth?
Is it something I can deny
Without worrying about win or lose?

Here and there, gone for a day
At the speed of light I'm never late
To hug you and tell you goodnight
And pray that you sleep in lunar light
