Faltering Friend Poem by Basit Olatunji

Faltering Friend

Rating: 5.0

Because you are to me an abiku
You will come and go like a shifty phantom

Because you are to me a passing love
I will not dwell too long in your drowning reverie

Because you are to me a changing day
You'll not only be satisfied by the noon when the night comes

Good depiction of disappointment, well articulated in insightful similes with conviction. You use of profound similes to drive home your point is both appropriate and poetically remarkable. Thanks for sharing Basit. Please read my poem NIGHTMARES OF THE SLUMBERING GIANT.
