Family Poem by Rachael Jane Margret Brown

Family

as my head hits the ground
and my limbs fall heavy
i close my eyes and dream
of a world long ago
and a family so strong
a place where anyone can belong
a smile slowly creeps across my face
as i take anthor to the chest
i don't feel it here
this world is where i hide
where no more pain can reach me
here i dont have to hide my scars
cover my bruises
my head dosnt fall in shame
i stand tall
the world at my feet

im brought back in a whirlwind
by cry of terror that dosnt belong to me
i close my eyes because i dont want to see
the dream is dead
just as quick as relised
anthor bottle chrash's
here i am weak
i try to lye low
i dont want him to see me
i try not to whimper
i dont want the neghbiours to hear me

maybe we're not a normal family
but the pain and the fear
hold us together........
i can never leave
i close my eyes and dream
of a world long ago
in this world i will die
