Family Reunion - Poem by Eilene Meadors
The hearts of the children
Are turning to their Fathers
The spirit of Elijah* is abroad in the land
Stirring buried memories
Barely known impressions
Nudging them back gently where their roots began
The gathering together
Of the family unit
Helping us to sort out who we are, or would be
Is a needful project
Also a great pleasure
Bringing us a sense of immortality
All of our forefathers
Long since passed before us
Live on in their influence on our lives to this day
We carry bits and pieces
Of each life that touched us
Long after their bodies have returned to clay
*Mal. 4:5-6
