Faraway Places (Song Lyric) Poem by John Carter Brown

Faraway Places (Song Lyric)

FAR AWAY PLACES

I faraway places and dreams
I live out another existence
where nothing is quite what it seems
and passes with little resistance.

Unable to ward off my foes
I lie in an uneasy bed
hopelessly held in chaotic cycle
of woes to which I seem wed.

How did I get into this situation
good as I thought I had been?
Thinking of offering my resignation
in faraway places and dreams.

I sleep though I tumble and turn
fitfully night after day
hoping my dream will adjourn
but no remedy comes round my way.

In faraway places and dreams
I drift and I leave, or I stay
where nothing is quite what it seems
night after night after day.

How did I get into this situation
good as I thought I had been?
Thinking of offering my resignation
in faraway places and dreams.

In faraway places and dreams
in faraway places and dreams.
