Farewell To A Friend Poem by Edmund Wong

Farewell To A Friend

Rating: 4.5

Farewell, my friend, the time for us to part
Hath come, as festive banquets have to quit,
By enduring Time, and our wavering heart,
In which our capricious lives have to meet.
Adieu, my pal, a journey of chance waits
For thee, tomorrow the sun will still be bright
As today's, if not brighter to thine aids,
Shining right on thy path forthcoming light.
From hence wilt thou be gone in corporal form,
But will forever within our memory dwell,
As even in Life's tempestuous storm,
Peace would be soon restored by Friendship's spell.
A thousand more words cannot spell my wish,
But it's time to desist, lest it becomes mawkish.
