Father Freak (3) (In Hot Water) Poem by U Win Kyi

There was a couple living together.
They had a 10-month -old daughter.
The father was always on the booze.
She was angry with a short fuse.
They always had a big quarrel,
while doing the business of selling noodle.

One day when she was very busy,
he was drunk and tipsy.
She was angry and started nagging.
Then the quarrel went escalating.
She asked if he dared to throw the daughter into boiling water,
which was meant for cooking noodle.
He did what she said,
and the baby thrown with a big splash.
She was scalded from neck downwards to toe,
and he was standing there just to behold.
Her mother took up the girl
and ran to the hospital
where she was admitted to ICU care,
so severe as if death was closing near.
The girl as caught between Father Freak and Mother Monster.
The whole country was sorry and said a lot of prayer.
4 days later, the girl died of Multiple Organ failure.
Her mother used the words so challenging and harsh,
and her father so insane and crazy nut.
By throwing her into hot boiling water
her father himself is now drownining in legal hot water.
