Father's Day Trip Poem by Marilyn Lott

Father's Day Trip

Rating: 2.8

It was a special Father’s Day trip
Climbed in a bus that was brand new
Sniffed in a fresh leather smell
I think you would have noticed it too

Off we went to find out all about
Grain elevators and Peg Barns
Learned about wheat grading
From a guy that had lots of charm

We got hats and cookies in the mix
That’s always nice for us
Then off down the road we went again
In our spanking brand new bus

We gazed at a historical barn
Time had sure left its mark
We went inside and closely saw
Old stalls in the semi-dark

Barn cats cute as you please
Peeking ‘round at us
I think they enjoyed our visit
They wanted us to make a fuss

Off we went down the road again
This time we headed for home
But it won’t be long till we’re off again
Down the red dirt roads to roam!
