At many stages in life we experience fear
It may be to lose someone who to us is dear
The people we love we never want to lose
When they leave, in our hearts there’s a bruise
About fear there is so much that can be said
But it’s our memories of the past, which we dread
To hide fear, people smile and use it as a disguise
But these types of smiles can never reach their eyes
We may be strong on the outside, when people are around
On the inside, we’re afraid of so many things, deep down
Overcoming some of them, can enhance our control
In our lives fear plays such an important role
Sometimes I wish the future could be foretold
Perhaps then, we wouldn’t be so afraid as it unfolds
If we knew, it would allow us to enjoy life bit by bit
But it’s a wonder what we would do without it…
