Life is an ocean of sorrow
Happiness, something you can’t borrow
As a child I couldn’t wait to become an adult
Years passed and I did, as a result
As I grew up, the world turned into a mess
At adulthood it didn’t seem any less
Just around the corner was old age
And the time came to turn the page
To move into a retirement home
Where all I did was live in a dome
Although it came with its own adventures
Throughout the day I had to wear dentures
Reflecting on the years that have gone
Was like watching a movie into which I was drawn
With a yawn and a sigh came death
As I drew in my last breath…
